SPAR Scotland fuelling BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend volunteer

SPAR Scotland, the leading symbol group in Scotland, is pleased to be supporting BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in its home city of Dundee. Taking place over the bank holiday weekend from 26-28 May, SPAR Scotland will be providing nearly 1,000 volunteers with snacks, lunch bags, water, and sunscreen at three different locations. 

The convenience store group has also secured a number of prominent branded opportunities with Dundee City Council for the weekend. Volunteers will wear SPAR branded lanyards for the duration of the event, a SPAR banner will be seen at the travel hub in Slessor Gardens. The SPAR Scotland logo will be displayed on the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend on the official Dundee website www.dundee.com and the logo will appear on all communications volunteers receive.

This is the second time that Dundee will host the event since 2006 and we are delighted Camperdown Park has been chosen as the venue for the flagship music festival. Working in partnership with Dundee City Council, this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase all that is great about our iconic city. 

"We are very please to have been chosen to fuel all the volunteers taking part in the event. We have nearly one thousand SPAR branded bags made up to distribute over the few days, filled with everything the volunteers will need - from SPAR own label water, sandwiches, crisps, fruit, and sunscreen.

"There are nine SPAR stores located in Dundee and we have a huge number of colleagues working tirelessly to support these stores over the duration of the event to ensure they will be fully stocked with everyday essentials in order to service the tens of thousands of people attending. We are thrilled to support this important event which firmly puts Dundee on the map."
